Pastoral Staff

Pastor John Hoffman is the founding pastor of The Grove Church. For 16 years he served on the senior pastoral staff at Foothills Christian Church where he led one of the largest student ministries in San Diego county.

John was born and raised in La Mesa and graduated from Helix High School. He received his undergraduate from San Diego State University and his Masters Degree in Theology from Bethel Seminary San Diego.

22 years ago he married his high school sweetheart, Gina. Gina is currently the principal at Foothills Elementary School.

God has loaned Gina and John 3 amazing boys;  AJ 18,  Caleb 16, and 13-year old Daniel. The Hoffman’s enjoy camping, building new friendships and cheering for their boy’s sporting teams.

Nathan Cornett is the youth pastor and assistant pastor to John Hoffman. Nathan is married to his wonderful and beautiful wife Joanna and together they live in La Mesa. They enjoy hiking and traveling together.

Nathan earned his BA from San Diego Christian College in Biblical Studies and his M.A. in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Nathan is also the Director of  Online Training at Called to Youth Ministry.

Currently Nathan oversees both Jr High and High School student ministries with a team of excellent volunteers. Big shout out to all our volunteers! They make it happen!
